Monte Verde Park is the departure point for Lakewood's FREE Earth Day celebration!
This fun and educational event is held each spring at rustic Monte Verde Park, which is the trailhead to over three miles of landscaped walking trails and the San Gabriel River Parkway.
Children and adults will visit hands-on learning stations to learn what they can do to help keep the earth beautiful and protected as they enjoy a nature walk lead by a knowledgeable guide.
"Woody the Tree," Lakewood's Tree City, U.S.A. mascot, will be in attendance. He will help teach visitors about Lakewood's beautiful urban forest.
Activities will move into the park's S. Mark Taper Lodge or under canopies if it rains.
